Package Tour
Development Program
The Blackstone Valley Tourism Council works with
individual and group travelers who seek packaged travel experiences.
Motorcoach travel into the Blackstone Valley is vital to sustaining
tourism programs. The Council assigns full-time staff to manage these
programs. Some of the areas of work are:
Trade Shows
The Blackstone Valley represents and promotes the nine
communities of Rhode Island’s Blackstone Valley through national and
international trade shows. The Council assists in development of the
activities, attractions, businesses, historical, cultural and
environmental sites to meet the needs and demands of the changing travel
markets in the 21st century.
Under contract, the Blackstone Valley Tourism Council represents all
Blackstone Valley National Heritage Corridor communities at select
industry sales endeavors.
Elderhostel
Elderhostel is America’s first and the world’s largest
education and travel organization. The Blackstone Valley Tourism Council
is an Elderhostel provider, which coordinates, administers and develops
new programs that represent Rhode Island and the Blackstone Valley.
Tour Rhode
Island
Tour Rhode Island, there is no place like home. This is
an event that we put together and coordinate with the rest of the
Tourism regions to showcase the rich and unique heritage the Ocean State
has to offer. Rhode Island is the only State that has this unique
program that allows residents to see what is in their backyard. The
overall goal of this project is to make Rhode Islanders Ambassadors of
their own state.
Travel
Experiences
Travel Experiences is a one-day group tour travel
exposition that is produced by this department in coordination with
Conway Tours Gray Line. Travel Experiences is the oldest group travel
exposition in New England bringing group travel leaders together with
destinations throughout the Northeast.
