The Blackstone River, one of 14 American
Heritage Rivers, flows between Worcester, Massachusetts and
Providence Rhode Island. The John H. Chafee Blackstone River
Valley National Heritage Corridor tells the story of the
river's role in starting New England's textile industry and
the American Industrial Revolution.
Celebrating the Asian Heritage of the
Blackstone Valley, this week our itinerary features a day of
Dragonboat Racing and entertainment at the 10th annual Rhode
Island
Dragonboat Race and
Taiwan Festival
Saturday, August 29, 2009.

Blackstone Valley Visitor Center |
Your day will begin at leisurely pace at
the Blackstone Valley Visitor Center to view the
award-winning film "Hidden in the Blackstone Valley" for a
preview of the Valley's rich history. After the film, your
group will board a shuttle to the Festival Pier. |
9:30 am - 4 pm
Dragonboat and Taiwan Festival
|
Experience the Rhode Island Chinese Dragon
Boat Races and Taiwan Day Festival. Nothing compares to the
rhythm of the pounding drum beat and the splashing sound of
22 paddlers racing to the finish line. Relish in the Asian
culture of with dance, music, arts and crafts, and cuisine.
This is perfect way to end your summer.
