LED Lighting

One of the hallmarks of the Pawtucket River Bridge is the use of LED lighting.  While much of the attention surrounding LED lighting deals with the design aspects (making things look pretty and being flexible and easily changeable as the bridge demonstrates), there are a number of advantages over conventional lighting that are helping it become the standard when it comes to all forms of industrial, commercial and home lighting.

In short, LED lights are much more efficient, environmentally friendly, and flexible, making them the best bet for most traditional and design oriented applications. While prices are currently higher than conventional lighting, they are dropping while quality is improving, and the longer life, energy saving and other advantages make them in many cases, even at higher costs, the most cost-effective solution.

LED lights can vary in quality so it is recommended that you purchase lighting that is "Energy Star" certified by the federal government.
