Board of Directors Meeting

In attendance were David Balfour, Moe Rondeau, Len Clingham, Dave Richards. Also in attendance were Robert Billington and Natalie Carter.

The Chairman declared that there was no quorum present. Therefore an official meeting could not take place.

A Financial Report dated 02/12/10 was distributed and Minutes from the December 18, 2009 Meeting were distributed.

Billington updated the Board on the following:

The William Wheat Chocolate Factory project in Central Falls
The Geotourism Charter being signed by the town of Burrillville
The Blackstone Alert project
The Blackstone Valley Sports Survey
The Cherry Tree Blossom Festival
The GoGo Cast Video cast project in the Lincoln and Pawtucket Visitor Centers
The Blackstone Culinaria Tour
The Lincoln Train Excursion to Woonsocket
The Geotourism Finalists touring the Blackstone Valley with the NGS and Ashoka Changemakers
The Educational Travel Conference held in Providence
The Educational Travel Conference that sent a volunteer group to work in Blackstone Valley
The Washington DC Geotourism Conference
The proposal that the Sustainable Tourism Laboratory is putting together for Peekskill NY
The failing economy and what the Council’s is doing to protect the fiscal integrity of the agency
Moe Rondeau noted that the Council should work with the Cumberland Lincoln Boys Club on their Rubber Ducky race.
A birthday cake was presented to Dave Balfour on his 75th birthday.
The meeting ended at 1:30
